Clear Lake's football team opened the 2019 season on Aug. 23 with a 30-0 shutout of Glenwood City at home. The Warriors garnered 317 yards of total offense while allowing just 94 from the Hilltoppers. 

Brett Benson completed his only pass attempt for a nine-yard touchdown reception by Riley Peterson.

Angel Guillen rushed for 99 yards and a touchdown on 15 attempts while Ivan Ruble tallied 69 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries. Jackson Fuller made the most of his four carries, racking up 35 yards and a touchdown.

On the defensive end, Ruble tallied 9.5 tackles including two for a loss and one sack. Peterson and Jacob Burbach also recorded one sack each. Peterson tallied just two tackles but both were for losses. Ryan Hayden and Ashton Duden gathered four tackles each.

Benson punted one time for 38 yards and returned a punt for 16 yards. Ruble returned one kick for 23 yards.
